Gratitude Journal I

I came up with a stellar idea to help me gain some clarity in these times of change! For the next 10 days on my 3 different blogs, in addition to my normal blogging, I am going to write about things for which I am deeply grateful. I already keep a handwritten gratitude journal but I think that this will be wonderful. I want to be able to write the details about the gifts in my life. Join me in this exercise on your blog!

So for today, Tuesday August 12th.

I am so so grateful for
My two amazing children and the lessons which they hand me. These days I see in both of them a single-mindedness, a focus, an ability to hone in to the things in which they are interested.

The sky. This morning I glanced up and saw an amazing blue sky with little white puffy clouds floating across it. There is something about a clear sunny rainy season sky that has a depth and a 'wetness' to it that is tangible.

A neat living space - this morning at least. It doesn't take long for me to pick up the 200 things strewn across the carpet, wipe the glass top on the dining room table, and vaccum the floor. I feel so calm at the end.

Clean running water in my home. Last night I went to a talk given by the Nigerian artist Ugo Ewe - he's doing a Commonwealth Residency in the art space behind the shop. He focuses his work on water/the environment/pollution and it reminded me of how blessed I am to have water in taps right inside my home!

Many options for communication - land line, cell phone, internet, and the old fashioned medium of face-to-face. What a time in which to live! Oh, and I forgot telepathy.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.
