Instead of cussing I'm appreciating

I'm feeling to use all kinds of obscenities.  Wachovia, my main bank, is triggering a lot of 3 year old tantrum-like behaviour with some of the 'sneaky' things they are doing to push me into overdraft.  So instead of calling their service line and lashing out at a powerless and unsuspecting human hologram, I think that a better use of my time is to make a little appreciation list.

I am really grateful for so many things right now.  But top on my list is:
The existence of beaches.  And South Beach in particular.  I am loving the soft sand.  The sound of the waves at 6 AM.  The seagulls circling around and around in the morning and eating the Portuguese Man o War jellyfish.  The sunrise.  The coolness of the water.  I LOVE the beach.

I also am loving:
Seeing Kwamena unravelling all the pressure to present a false face to the adult world and instead becoming more authentic every day.
My lovely yahoo groups.
The internet.
The internet.
Apple/Carrot Juice
An empty stomach.
Financially independent friends who provide some really important inspiration.
The friendly woman at the birth certificate office.
Efua's specificity and persistence.
All the options of places for us to sleep/stay
My lovely RV
Snatam Kaur
Going to sleep when I'm collapsing with tiredness
Lightly steamed broccoli with butter
Forgiveness
Percy Jackson books
Writing
Touching base with Wendell, a friend from Trinidad
Daydreaming of hanging out in Brasso Seco with Kelly and Carl
Tying up loose ends

What do you appreciate right now?

  2. Oh Kelly. I so am looking forward to lying in those rivers again. You do not know the intensity of my imagination about them. Even the one where the river lobster nipped me last time.
And I am definitely going to figure out a way to stop by in Klamath. I wanted to go exactly there to say thanks to the Blue-Green algae grown in Klamath that I drink every day if I can. But I convinced myself that I would stay on the Oregon coast. But now here is another reason to go.
Your travels sound lovely. Glad that there is no separate you and me so that I can drink in the flavor of your trips and don't even have to go there in person.
Lots and lots of love from a rainy rainy South Beach
